HECAS application

Please informed that DST has installed 2 HECAS terminals at Staffroom F, at SMSO. Students from Tutong (non-SMSO included) are welcome to use the terminals for free during the morning sessions.

First Degrees and HNDs offered at ITB

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering)
(Twinning (2+1) ITB and Queen's University Belfast, UK)

  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • 3 ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics (grade C) and two Science
    subjects (grade C and D)

Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum Engineering)
Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering)
(Twinning (1+3) ITB and University of New South Wales, Australia)

  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • Minimum of 240 ‘A’ Level points for 3 ‘A’ level passes, must be Physics, Chemistry
    or Mathematics (excluding Further Mathematics) at grade ‘C’ or better.

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Communications Engineering)

  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • Minimum of 220 ‘A’ Level points for 3 ‘A’ level passes in both Mathematics and
    Physics at grade ‘C’ or better, and a Science subject, OR
  • Minimum of 180 ‘A’ Level points for 2 ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics and
    Physics (excluding Further Mathematics) at grade ‘C’ or better
    .

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)

  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • Minimum of 220 ‘A’ Level points for 3 ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics or
    Further Mathematics (grade C), Physics (grade C) and Chemistry (grade D)

Bachelor of Business (Business Information Technology)

  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • Minimum of 200 ‘A’ Level points for 3 ‘A’ level passes in any relevant subjects, OR
  • Minimum of 180 ‘A’ Level points for 2 ‘A’ level passes in any relevant subjects


(Relevant subjects include Accounting, Economics, Management of Business/ Business Studies,
Mathematics and Computer Studies)

Bachelor of Science (Internet Computing)


  • C6 in O levels Malay Language and Mathematics, and
  • C6 in O Level English Language or IELTS 6.0, and
  • Minimum of 200 ‘A’ Level points for 3 ‘A’ level passes in any relevant subjects, OR
  • Minimum of 180 ‘A’ Level points for 2 ‘A’ level passes in any relevant subjects
    • (Relevant subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computing, Design and
      Technology, and Accounting


      Higher National Diploma

      • May be required to sit and pass in written numeracy, literacy
        and Computer Literacy* tests, and

      • Minimum of C6 for 'O' Level English or 6.0 for IELTS
      • 1st and 2nd year of study will be at UBD while 3rd and 4th year will be at University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

      Bachelor of Science (Physical Education)*

      • 160 points for 3 'A' Level credits (Credits must consist of an English medium subject, at least Grade C or better)
      • Have obtained at least 5 GCE 'O' Level credit passes or equivalent including English, Bahasa Melayu and a Science subject
      • Must pass an interview conducted by the University Admission Committee and pass a Fitness and Skilled Assessment conducted by UBD
      • Must actively participate in physical education through sports or extra curricular activities (Proof of participation need to be based on certificate/accreditation/testimonial letters from the school or various sport bodies
      • * This is a jointly delivered programme. Your 1st and 4th years of study will be at UBD while your 2nd and 3rd years will be at University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, UK (UWIC).

      Education UK 2009

      This afternoon U6 students visited the Education UK Exhibition at The Rizqun International, The Mall Gadong. There were a large number of participating British universities where the students were able to obtain valuable information on courses and facilities offered at the universities. Our Alumni (U6 students 2008) also visited the exhibition in order to get offers from their chosen universities.

      'Bridging to The Future' Sharing session 2009 (I)

      Four students who are currently studying at University of Otago, New Zealand and Curtin University, Australia had a sharing session with the current U6 students this afternoon from 2 to 3pm. Koh Chien Yun (Pharmacy), Lim Lee Sher (Dentistry), Tan Chee Liang (Dentistry) and Syazwan Suni (Toursim Management)are all back to Brunei for the summer holiday and take this opportunity to share their success stories with the juniors.
