First Degree Programmes offered at UNISSA

The followings are the first degree programmes offered at UNISSA. More detailed information can be obtained from the UNISSA website.

  • Bachelor of Usuluddin (Tafsir & Hadith) (Arabic medium)
  • Bachelor of Usuluddin (Aqidah & Da’awah) (Arabic medium)
  • Bachelor of Science in Islamic Finance (English medium)
  • Bachelor of Business Management (English medium)
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)

NOTE:

Brunei-Cambridge GCE A Level Grade Point guide:

Grade A = 120 points

Grade B = 100 points

Grade C = 80 points

Grade D = 60 points

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

a) Applicant applying for admission to Arabic-medium degree programmes should have obtained the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (STPUB) or its equivalent with an average grade ‘Jayyid’ or a minimum points of 160 in 2 subjects or 200 in 3 subjects in Brunei-Cambridge GCE A Level or its equivalent in Arabic-medium; and the subjects should be at the minimum grade D.

b) Applicant applying for admission to English-medium degree programmes should have passed:
(i) the Brunei-Cambridge GCE A Level or its equivalent with at least a minimum points of 160 in 2 subjects or 200 in 3 subjects; and the subjects should be at the minimum grade D; or(ii) the International Baccalaureate (IB) Examination with a minimum score of 28 points.

c) Applicant applying for Bachelor of Laws should also pass General Paper (GP) subject with at least grade B in Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level.

d) Applicant applying for admission to English-medium degree programmes should also have obtained at least a credit 6 both in Mathematics and in English Language at Brunei Cambridge GCE‘O’ Level or a grade C in IGCSE English or an IELTS score of 6.0, or TOEFL minimum overall score of 550.

e) Applicant with Higher National Diploma (HND) who obtained at least ‘merit’ passes in five subjects relevant to the degree programme to which admission is being sought, may be considered.

f) All applicants applying for admission to Arabic-medium degree programmes have to sit for Arabic Language test on 24 February 2009 and attend and passed a 3-month Intensive Arabic and English Language Courses beginning 9 March 2009.

g) All applicants applying for admission to English-medium degree programmes have to attend and pass a 3-month Intensive Course in Arabic Language.

h) Applicant may be required to sit and pass the University Entrance Test.

ITB Career Dialogue and Exhibition

U6 Mathematics and Accounting students paid a visit to ITB Career Dialogue and Exhibition. A large number of companies and corporations participated in the exhibition where students were informed on the career opportunities available in Brunei.
